APRIL
“April hath put a spirit of youth in everything. (Sonnet XCVIII)” ― William Shakespeare, Shakespeare's Sonnets
Hello,
BACK TO LIFE
What is it about Spring season that appeals so much to me?, Well, for one, I see nature coming back to life: Colorful flowers, the singing of the birds, the fresh warmer air. Perhaps, it is that I get tired of the darkness in winter time. April is such a welcoming month, full of promises.
For all I know, what is attractive to me is to know that, almost imperceptibly, the sun makes its way through and prepares the days to be brighter, longer, and warmer. The world then, seems refreshed, supplying once again, what nature itself had been consumed.
DARE TO BE HAPPY
In any case, April is a preamble of the year's hot summer, a time that allows me to move forward, a month that grants me the great idea that the rest of the year could be even better than the last. April, is the perfect time I can count on, to show an unquenchable thirst for life. There is an energy in the air that invites me to dare to be happy.
When I play this piece, I think of many things, but I often see myself crossing a threshold to a greener pasture if you will, a place where I can finally breath and feel lighter on my feet, a place where I can go places and meet people. I can almost hear a soft whisper at my ear telling me to keep going, to keep waltzing around, don't stop, it wisely advices.
IMPOSSIBLE TO MISS
The piano/cello duet that I am presenting here, is a simple and direct dance with no prideful accidentals that takes me to an uncomfortable world_ to an unknown place that I want to escape_ Instead, I find the music kind, friendly, just like in the middle of a day in April..
According to the authoritarian rules that nature impose on everything living under the sun. Spring time is, indeed, the landmark for the awaiting change that is impossible to miss, it is after all; a long wait from the dismal darkness of Winter. Year after year, in April, I find myself eager to put into action all my plans, thinking in the music I'll compose, and anticipating the time, I'll spend sipping coffee on the porch. Life is good!
